The Non-Timber Forest Products – Exchange Programme Asia (NTFP-EP) is a collaborative, regional network of grassroots NGOs and peoples’ organizations that seek to build the capacity of forest-based communities in the sustainable management of forests, especially in the conservation and trade of non-timber forest products. NTFP-EP implements programs in six (6) Asian countries and maintains regional headquarters in Manila, Philippines.
Among the organization’s initiatives is a small grants fund named after a distinguished activist and champion of indigenous peoples rights and traditional ecological knowledge, and founding member of the NTFP-EP Board of Trustees, Pastor Delbert Rice. The Pastor Delbert Rice – Small Grants Fund (PDR-SGF) aims to support community-based projects in the field of forest conservation. In 2016, the PDR-SGF received funding from the Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA), a global program led by international women’s funds and rights based organizations, FCAM, Mama Cash and Both ENDS. The GAGGA PDR-SGF facility supports the GAGGA vision which aims to strengthen capabilities and unify grassroots groups to lobby and advocate for women’s rights and environmental justice agendas.
In line with this, NTFP-EP is looking for a
who shall be mainly responsible for managing the GAGGA PDR-SGF facility, working both with partners and the staff at the regional and country offices. S/he will report to the Executive Director and may be asked to perform other duties from time to time with limited supervision. The scope of work includes the following:
