Code Redd

Thirty-seven participants and resource persons attended the CoDe REDD Event held last October 7, 2009 at China Room, RECOFTC, Katsetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand.   The event was held parallel to the UN Climate Change Talks in Bangkok to i) provide a venue for Asian CSOs to share their efforts in REDD discussions and eventually develop a regional REDD network strategy for engagement in Copenhagen and beyond; ii) tap the UNFCCC meeting located in an ASEAN country, to strengthen advocacy towards responsibly implemented REDD (CoDe REDD) at the country /national level policies and programs; and, iii)distill learnings from Asian national and draw from strategic regional initiatives on community forestry and REDD.
