NTFP–EP will have a small delegation participating in the 20th Conference of Parties (COP20) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change  (UNFCCC) this year in Lima, Peru.  Atty. Edna N. Maguigad, Regional Policy and Governance Adviser of NTFP-EP Asia will lead this team composed of partners from the region, Mr. Donal Yeang, REDD+ Specialist, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS)- Cambodia and Core Committee Member of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) REDD+ Network in Cambodia; Naw Ei Ei Min, Executive Director, POINT (Promotion of Indigenous and Nature Together), Myanmar and Mr. Roger V. Garinga, Executive Director, IDEAS (Institute for the Development of Educational and Ecological Alternatives ) in Palawan, Philippines

Lima Climate Change Conference will be held on December 1-12, 2014 and will be a crucial moment to reach a universal climate agreement in 2015 in Paris.  Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary UNFCCC stated that

“The litmus test of success in Lima will be a clear draft of the universal agreement, a shared determination by all to deliver significant national contributions to build a low carbon resilient future, initial capitalisation of the Green Climate Fund, and the mobilisation of a broad coalition of actors turning potential into reality on the ground without delay.”
