PAMPANGA, Philippines –
#CommunitiesSpeak weaves together the participation of representatives of organizations and communities of smallholders, community forest producers and enterprises, and indigenous peoples living in forests and forested landscapes, together with their support groups in the Asia-Pacific Forestry Week (APFW) 2016.
The consortium of the three organizations – Asian Farmers Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA), Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP), and the Non-Timber Forest Products – Exchange Programme (NTFP-EP), aims to strongly project the voices of communities to inform and influence the outcomes of APFW 2016 as well as to build further solidarity and networking.
This movement elaborates the calls and messages from “Building Momentum“, a conference organized by the FAO Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) in Durban, South Africa, in preparation for the World Forestry Congress back in 2015.
