Finance Project Assistant Reliever 

NTFP-EP Asia is an association of 31 members with over 100 partner non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations working with forest-based communities to strengthen their capacity in the sustainable management of natural resources in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

The Finance Project Assistant Reliever is a full-time position open to Philippine-based applicants only. The engagement will be under a Professional Service Contract (PSC) with a gross monthly fee of Php 22,000.00 commensurate to qualification. The contract duration is four (4) months, from 17 August to 17 December 2026.  

This position reports to the Finance Coordinator. Duty station is at the NTFP-EP Asia Quezon City office, which operates on a compressed work week from Mondays to Thursdays but with travel to project areas from time to time.

Qualifications 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field. 
  1. At least 2 years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, project administration, or grants management, preferably with NGOs, development organizations, or donor-funded projects. 
  1. Experience in financial monitoring, bookkeeping, budget tracking, financial reporting, and maintaining financial records. 
  1. Familiarity with donor financial compliance and reporting requirements; experience with international donor-funded projects is an advantage. 
  1. Proficiency in Quick Books, NetSuite Oracle, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with accounting software or cloud-based financial systems is an asset. 
  1. Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines. 
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  1. Ability to coordinate effectively with multicultural teams and partners across different countries. 
  1. High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability in handling confidential financial information. 
  1. Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of NTFP-EP Asia, with sensitivity to and respect for Indigenous Peoples, local communities, women, and youth. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Each staff’s duties and responsibilities contribute towards the attainment of the Vision, Mission, and Goals of NTFP-EP. This includes providing proactive support and working in cooperation with partners, including those from the marginalized sectors – indigenous peoples and local communities including women and youth – in the different country networks and in various capacities.  

The staff is a member of the Sustainable Climate Adaptive Community Livelihood (SCAL) Thematic Programme of NTFP-EP and as such contributes through her project responsibility to the achievement of the target outcomes of the AFOCO CLMV Project and the SCAL thematic programme.  

The Finance Project Assistant Reliever will be supervised by the Finance Coordinator and will work closely with the AFOCO CLMV Project Coordinator for the effective implementation, finance monitoring, recording and reporting of the project activities funded by AFOCO and ASEAN Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF) and will be responsible for the following:  

1. Supervision of the finances concerns of the AFOCO CLMV project.  

2. Setting up of the financial systems to conform with the requirements of AFOCO and AKCF.  

3. Maintaining a digital record of all project financial transactions, documents, and other important information.  

4. Timely submission of all required project financial reports to AFOCO and AKCF.  

5. Coordinating daily financial tasks with the financial management team of NTFP-EP Asia and other NTFP partners in the CLMV project sites to optimize project implementation.  

6. Facilitating the timely gathering, recording, financial analysis and reporting of financial data and information during project implementation to be used for assessment, evaluation and planning exercises.  

7. Contributing to knowledge management and documenting lessons learned to facilitate continuous improvement of project implementation activities.  

8. Performing other tasks and backstopping other regional work and partnerships related to her job designation and corresponds to her capacity, as may be assigned by the AFOCO CLMV Project Coordinator and Finance Coordinator.
