The USBONG Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Forum 2026, hosted by Forest Foundation Philippines and the DENR, marked a strategic shift from conceptual alignment to actionable execution across vulnerable landscapes. Supported by DENR Administrative Order No. 2026-30, the forum institutionalized the IUCN Global Standard for NbS into national environmental policies.

The forum highlighted the frontline execution of five Mindanao grantees under the Philippines-Canada Partnership on Nature-based Solutions for Climate Adaptation (PCP4NbS). These community-led initiatives leverage rights-based, gender-responsive approaches to address escalating climate risks like landslides, floods, and earthquakes.
