Orang Asli (indigenous people of Malaysia) villages affected by floods in Pahang and Kelantan urgently need help. Many villages have been cut off by flood water since before Christmas and some entire villages were submerged with reports of houses being washed away.
Jaringan Orang Asal SeMalaysia (JOAS) is collecting monetary donations which will be distributed to reliable people in the affected areas. The funds will be transferred to them and they will purchase the items they need for the community from the nearest shop. As many roads are cut off at the moment, usually they are able to get hold of boats, trucks or motorbikes to get the necessary access, or else they will have to go on foot.
Donations can be made via the The Center for Orang Asli Concerns (COAC), which is accepting the donations on behalf of JOAS
