NTFP-EP supports the Tohmle Statement, reiterates calls of Indigenous Peoples, CSOs

NTFP-EP supports the Tohmle Statement developed during the 4th Conference on Indigenous Peoples’ Rights, Biodiversity, and Climate Change of AIPP. This statement was affirmed by 65 Indigenous leaders from 10 Asian countries and 36 organizations—including elders, women, youth, persons with disabilities, journalists, and lawyers.

It further reiterates the advocacy calls from the Eh Sa Ka Ou Declaration (AIPP Environment Conference in 2023) and Bankhoeunphal Declaration (CSO Forum in 2024) to elevate and recognize the leadership of Indigenous Peoples, civil society organizations, and local communities in climate and biodiversity action.

We will carry the calls and messages going to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP29 and United Nation Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD) COP16.
