NTFP-EP and partners participated in-person and online during the 12th Meeting of the Local Community and Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP) Facilitative Working Group (FWG). The meeting was organized in Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of the pre-sessional meetings for the UNFCCC COP29.
The Facilitative Working Group (FWG) of the Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP) was established at COP 24 in Katowice in December 2018. Its main goal is to put the LCIPP into action and support its three essential functions: improving knowledge, enhancing engagement capabilities, and promoting climate change policies and actions. The FWG collaborates with various organizations within and outside the Convention to ensure a unified approach to the Platform’s efforts. The UNFCCC secretariat plays a key role in supporting and facilitating the FWG’s activities.

The 13th FWG Meeting will continue in Bonn, Germany, on June 2025, right before the UNFCCC SB61.
