Project Assistant for Community-based Conservation (CBC) 

NTFP-EP Asia is an association of 30 members with over 100 partner non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations working with forest-based communities to strengthen their capacity in the sustainable management of natural resources in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.  

The Project Assistant role is open to Philippine-based applicants only. This is a full-time position with flexibility for remote work and occasional field travel. The duty station is NTFP-EP Asia, Quezon City, but applicants based outside Metro Manila are also welcome to apply.  The role will be supervised by the Program Officer for Community-Based Conservation and is offered under a five-month service contract, covering the period from 15 July to 15 December 2025. This is a full-time role, with schedule and outputs aligned to project deliverables.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Environmental Science, Anthropology, Development Studies, or related fields
  2. At least 5 years of experience in project management or coordination roles, ideally in regional or multi-country programs
  3. Strong understanding of Indigenous Peoples’ rights, biodiversity conservation, or NTFP-based livelihoods
  4. Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-cultural coordination skills
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Each Employee’s duties and responsibilities contribute towards the attainment of the Vision, Mission, and Goals of NTFP-EP. This includes providing proactive support and working in cooperation with partners, including those from the marginalized sectors – indigenous peoples and local communities including women and youth – in the different country networks and in various capacities. 

The Project Assistant will provide coordination and logistical support to the regional implementation of the project “Documentation of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) and Their Uses in South and Southeast Asia.” Responsibilities include: 

  1. Coordinating with regional and country-level partners across six countries 
  1. Developing and managing project timelines, work plans, and reporting schedules 
  1. Facilitating donor communications and ensuring compliance with funding requirements 
  1. Organizing regular check-ins with country focal persons and civil society partners 
  1. Monitoring field activity progress and supporting timely delivery of outputs 
  1. Supporting planning and logistics for validation workshops and knowledge dissemination
