The potential of non-timber forest product (NTFP) resource in terms of economic and production gains is promising especially in a country as diverse as Indonesia. NTFP-EP Indonesia’s vision is to link scientific research with a developmental approach to generating knowledge about NTFPs, forest ecosystems, and its relationship with the livelihoods of forest-based communities. NTFP-EP is present in Indonesia as Yayasan Pengembangan Sumberdaya Hutan Indonesia. Established in 2012, NTFP-EP Indonesia is currently working with partner communities and organizations in Kalimantan, Sumatera and Nusa Tenggara provinces, engaging partnerships with local and national government and non-government organizations, and academe.
Today, NTFP-EP Indonesia continues to create a collaborative platform between various stakeholders to allow room for the integration of NTFPs into various issues, policies, agendas, institutions and markets related to forests and peoples.
